‘The Beginning of Wisdom is the Fear of God.’
– – King Solomon.
King Solomon was a reputed Philosopher, Master of Metaphysics and Alchemy.
Professor of Egyptology at Oxford University, Magnus Penn wants to discover the truth concerning King Solomon – and the whereabouts of his vast fortune which has never been found.
Magnus returns to Egypt and utilizes the wisdom of a Sharman, a practitioner of ancient rites which have been in existence for 60,000 years. The professor embarks on a journey of consciousness, travelling a metaphysical timeline while traversing countless realities. The spiritual journey involves warping both chronological time and the human mind.
The professor experiences a surreal journey to The House of Solomon. The actual temple during the King’s reign existed before the advent of Christ.
Magnus must not only survive a traversing of the human mind, he must also physically survive ‘The Curse of The Pharaohs.’
“IMAGINE – THEN DARE TO BELIEVE…”
The private Common Room succumbs to a heady silence of bewilderment.
‘Nothing new there.’ I think to myself rather unkindly. “Allow me to remind you all how the learning procedure works. Firstly, it is I, your lowly Professor who asks the questions and it is you, your good selves who kindly respond with the answers.” I respectively allow this gem of knowledge sink in. “The Sphinx in Greek mythology was regarded as female who strangled anyone who failed to answer her riddle. In this case it was directed at the hero Oedipus. The question, which I shall repeat for the hearing impaired was – what creature walks on four legs in the morning, two legs at noon, and three legs in the evening?” I pause to allow the dawning of comprehension grace all those present. “And the answer Oedipus gave, was??” I sigh heavily. “To those of you not blessed, please do try to keep up.”
“The correct answer, Professor has to be – Man.” Answers Tilly Windlass, one of the brighter specimens to grace the confines of my study. Her natural beauty complemented with honey blonde hair is often overshadowed by a brilliance in her chosen field of Egyptology.
“You have avoided death by strangulation, Miss Windlass. May I say well done to you. Perhaps the great unwashed gracing us with their presence will be stirred by your example.” I allow my spectacles to circumnavigate the room…
“Manitoba, I have been bought to this place with your guidance. But why? What is the purpose?”
My old Zulu friend looks at me with a knowing smile. “Magnus, this very place is your Genesis.”
Suddenly the realization hits me.’ My God! This is where my metaphysical journey of consciousness begins to locate King Solomon. This is why I am here!’
“Sawubona, Manitoba.” I acknowledge him in the Zulu tongue.
He nods and smiles. “Noikhona – I am here. Until you saw me I did not exist. By acknowledging me you have bought me into existence – your existence.” His reply is an ancient Zulu proverb.
We stand as one to allow our souls to converse as one mind, one spirit.
I instinctively know I will not make this journey alone. Manitoba will be with me come what may…
“The Sharman Priest will arrive at sundown. Do not judge him by appearances. He holds Masters degrees in Pure Mathematics and Quantum Physics.” Manitoba explains while we sit on a boulder at the waters edge.” The Sharman remains in sole charge during the journey process. His methods include a powerful meditation using the drug, Iboga. This allows the participant to remain in two states of consciousness during the journey. The Iboga plant is used by African Pygmies who scrape the plant root bark to ingest. The drug is always administered by a Sharman.”
A small muscular man enters the cave and beckons for us to join him. “Welcome back to the continent of Africa, Magnus.” He smiles broadly while tapping a small drum after placing a string of coloured beads around my neck.
“During your journey the sound of this drum will accompany you. It is important you retain awareness of the drum and the rattles. The drum symbolizes your heartbeat and the rattles symbolizes your pulses. You will hear both at all times. Their rhythm will match your heart and pulse rate continuously.”
“What happens if I can’t hear either at some stage?”
“The same thing that happens if your heart and pulses stop during your life in the physical consciousness.” The Sharman replies. “You will die.”
“We prefer the term of stepping through the door to another reality, another universe.” Manitoba explains. ”The drum and rattles are your lifeline to this reality. They are your return ticket.”
“It is time to begin your journey, my friend. Remember Manitoba and I will be here beside your physical body for the duration.” The Sharman gently leads me to the centre of the cave…
