The Puppeteer of Potsdam

By Ray Drayton

‘A Brilliant Read.’
This Book is a fantastic read.
Ray Drayton along with his wife write great stories and over the years have written many.
I would recommend all of them.

Synopsis:

Brigadier Albert Dexter is a British Commander of the Secret SOE.

He had operated covertly behind enemy lines in occupied Europe during World War two.

Brigadier Dexter emerged from retirement in the latter stages of the Cold War, at the behest of MI6.  He utilizes a childhood fetish of Puppetry for purposes of infiltration and exfiltration of spies within the Eastern Bloc.  The method allows spies to be placed in strategic positions behind the Iron Curtain and retrieved back to safety.  His secret method saved the lives of countless spies who would otherwise face torture and ultimately, death if caught.

The Western Allies are perilously close to losing the espionage war.  The consequences of defeat are too dire to contemplate for the West.

The Marionette puppet master operates his ancient craft in East Berlin.  He is unseen and unknown to both East and West spymasters.  His cloak of complete anonymity is his only protection from capture by GDR Stasi or Russian KGB.

The Cold War eventually spans across four decades.

The question remains – how long can The Puppeteer of Potsdam survive before he meets an untimely end??
